German Speaking Customer Service Advisor

Location: Derbyshire, office based, to start May/June 2026

Overview:

A friendly, office-based customer service role supporting a well-established UK manufacturer, who are also award winning.


You will be providing German language telephone support while also supporting English customer enquiries, helping customers place orders, processing payments and postal orders, and handling aftersales queries.


This role is being planned to support continuity, with the opportunity to join a long-serving, supportive team in a family-oriented business

Key responsibilities:

  • Taking incoming calls from German-speaking customers and processing telephone orders
  • Processing online orders and postal orders, including order forms and cheque payments
  • Supporting customer enquiries in English and German across phone and email
  • Advising customers on products, sizing and ordering, while maintaining a calm and approachable manner
  • Managing return-related queries and escalating complex issues when needed
  • Updating orders and customer records accurately while speaking on the phone
  • Using headset-based telephony and computer systems to manage daily customer contact

Typical day:

  • Starting the shift by logging into the phone system and checking daily priorities
  • Taking customer calls and placing orders while updating records live on screen
  • Processing web and postal orders and supporting general customer enquiries
  • Handling occasional complaints sensitively and passing complex cases to a team leader when needed
  • Supporting colleagues across a small customer service office and contributing to a positive team environment

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Speaking German at a strong level suitable for customer conversations and order taking
  • Communicating clearly and professionally in English
  • Demonstrating a warm, patient and approachable customer style
  • Typing confidently while speaking and navigating multiple systems at once
  • Showing comfort using computer-based phone systems and office software
  • Bringing customer service experience where possible, with full training provided
  • Enjoying working onsite as part of a close-knit team

Working pattern:

  • Covering shifts between 8:00am and 6:00pm on a rota, 27.5 hours per week
