German-Speaking Content Writer – Hybrid, Blackburn
Working Pattern: 3 days office, 2 days remote (after training). Some flexibility possible for experienced candidates
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00 (flexible from 08:00–17:30)
Salary: £30K – £34K max depending on experience
We periodically recruit for a leading international retail business with a family feel, helping to grow their German-language website. This is a writing-focused role with real potential to shape and expand content that reaches a wider customer base in Germany.
Responsibilities
- Growing and maintaining the German-language website to appeal to German audiences
- Writing and refreshing German-language product descriptions
- Creating blog posts and category content for the German website
- Translating/adapting English content for a German audience
- Including SEO keywords provided by the content manager
- Collaborating with UK and German-based teams
- Working independently on copy improvements and content planning
- Supporting e-commerce content performance across platforms
- The nature of the work will be predominantly writing web-based copy
- The key copy you’ll be creating are product descriptions and blog posts for the website
The Ideal Candidate
- Some experience or demonstrable interest in writing should be shown ideally
- Native-level German skills
- Strong writing skills, happy to take a writing assessment, if experience isn’t there already
- Interest in e-commerce and marketing
- Familiarity with SEO and SEO tools – preferred but not fully essential
- Comfortable learning about a range of niche products to write about – some of these you may not be experienced with using yourself
- Based within commutable distance of Blackburn, for a hybrid position
