Location: Nottingham Hybrid, 2 days office, 3 remote
Salary: up to £27,000
Office Pattern: 2 days office / 3 days home
Hours: 8am – 4pm, 45 mins lunch

About the Company

We are recruiting a German speaking credit controller for a brilliant organisation currently undergoing expansion after recent acquisition of another business. The key purpose of the role is to support and manage credit control for German-speaking B2B clients, helping to maintain healthy cash flow for the business. The role sits within a well-structured team of credit controllers, reporting to a team leader. Prior credit control or finance experience is desirable but not fully necessary. What is key is someone who can grasp numbers to a reasonable level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Around 50% of the role is customer service for wholesale customers
  • And 50% is chasing aged sums of money they owe for purchases
  • These two main areas will cover the below tasks:
  • Carrying out credit assessments and managing credit limits
  • Reviewing orders and obtaining approvals to change credit limit where needed
  • Supporting debt collection and resolving payment issues
  • Allocating payments and reconciling customer accounts
  • Preparing and sending account statements and invoices
  • Liaising with sales and customer service teams
  • Reviewing client payment queries and managing disputes
  • Using SAP and other internal systems to maintain accuracy
  • Contact with customers will always be via email and telephone

The Person They’re Looking For

  • Fluent German Speaking is a must
  • You don’t need prior credit control experience, though should have a head for numbers. Any finance or credit control experience already is desirable however
  • Comfortable with debt collection and disputes, dealing with clients who may be evading payment, or other difficult conversations needed
  • Strong admin and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with numbers, and should have finance awareness
  • If you have used SAP before, great, but it isn’t essential
  • Confident building relationships with clients
  • Works well to deadlines under pressure
